LuaVIEW is (C) 2003-2005 CIT Engineering. The LuaVIEW distribution and the logging/SCADA add-on can be downloaded and used free of charge for non-commercial purposes. The following uses of LuaVIEW are considered non-commercial and do not require a license:
The rule of thumb is that LuaVIEW is free until money is earned or saved through software implemented with it. When deploying a commercial solution or selling a product that uses LuaVIEW, a license must be bought. CIT will add this license to a numbered list of licenses together with project or product name, solution provider, site, and customer or company information. This allows users of the software to verify that they are indeed licensed. The solution provider is obliged to note the LuaVIEW copyright and license number in an "about" dialog or similar, and include or link to these license conditions in the software's documentation.
A solution provider is the entity that develops the software. A license is required irrespective of whether this is an external consultant/company or an internal programmer/team.
A solution deployment should be taken to constitute the delivery and installation of software to a particular customer or group of users that are part of a single organization. A license is required on deployment: acquisition of the license can be postponed until shortly before deployment. When the solution is deployed on multiple machines, no additional licenses need be acquired. When the solution is upgraded, the existing license remains valid. However, a derivative solution serving different requirements or a different customer does require a new license. When you deliver the source code as part of the solution, so as to allow modification and rebuilding of the application by the customer, it is allowed to include the LuaVIEW VIs in the source tree.
A product based on LuaVIEW, that is, software that is sold on an "as is" basis to multiple customers, requires only a single license, provided that the product is sold as a built application that is not specialized per customer. It is not allowed to sell the LuaVIEW source VIs as part of a product, or resell or redistribute the LuaVIEW toolkit or customised versions thereof.
A single solution or product license costs 1000 Euros. Pricing may be adjusted in the future. When acquiring a licence for a product or deployment, specify the name of the organisation and application to be used in the list of licenses. Purchase orders can be faxed to +32 14 57 96 51 or mailed to:

On receipt of a purchase order, CIT will return an invoice. The list entry and corresponding license number will be issued on receipt of payment.
CIT also offers site licences and technical support on terms that can be negotiated on an individual basis. A site licence covers all deployments of LuaVIEW-based software developed by programmers at a particular site for the duration of the licence, and as such can be cost effective for organizations or departments that make frequent use of LuaVIEW. When a site licence expires, existing deployments made under that licence remain covered. Only new deployments require extension of the site licence, or the acquisition of individual licences.
