ESI-CIT Group takes over market colleague T&M Solutions
ESI-CIT Group, Belgian market leader in the field of test and measurement systems, has taken over the Dutch market leader T&M Solutions. The takeover fits in the Belgian company’s growth strategy to become the main supplier of test and measurement solutions in the Benelux. According to CEO Kurt Hensen this is a next step in the continuing development of ESI-CIT Group in Europe. T&M solution will continue to operate in the Netherlands under its own name. Arnoud de Kuijper, who was already involved in day-to-day management, will become managing director of T&M Solutions. ESI-CIT Group, with headquarters in Hasselt (BE), now has 3 locations in the Netherlands (Eindhoven, Arnhem en Capelle a/d Ijssel) and one in Poland in Wroclaw.
Kurt Hensen: ‘We have been active in the Dutch market for several years and want to grow further in that market. This is possible through organic growth or through takeovers. We have chosen the second path to keep pace with the growing demand for our products in the market. With the people of T&M Solutions we now have a substantial basis for further development in the Netherlands and Europe. We are one of the main European players in our market and want to further grow to become the reference company in our market.
Software & mechatronics
According to Kurt Hensen both companies are complementary: ’With ESI-CIT Group we have been positioning ourselves as a developer of customer specific test and measurement software and hardware solutions. We are evolving more and more toward supplying complete system solutions that are integrated in our customer’s production process. T&M solution has a team of very experienced software developers but it has been lacking the capability to deliver complete turnkey solutions by themselves. To be able to differentiate yourself on a European level it is necessary to be very competent in both software and mechatronic hardware. From our headquarters in Hasselt we can support our Dutch operations on the hardware side. Over time we will also build up this expertise in the Netherlands.’
Arnoud de Kuijper: ‘the addition of the experience that ESI-CIT Group has on the mechatronic side to the expertise of T&M Solutions gives us the opportunity to put our knowledge for delivering customer specific test and measurement solutions in to the market at very competitive rates. Not only the short delivery times and fixed development costs are very appealing but also the match between desired solution and final product.’
Continuous growth
The takeover of T&M solutions fits perfectly with the strategy of ESI-CIT Group to grow 20% annually.
Kurt Hensen: ‘Together with T&M Solutions we expect a turnover of more than 8 million euro this year. We achieve this with more than 50 employees. But we see more growth potential; Germany and France in particular are very interesting markets. As a result we are always looking for new engineer to help build the success of ESI-CIT Group. The knowledge and expertise of our engineers are key contributors to our current and future success.
About ESI-CIT Group
ESI-CIT Group was founded in 1998 as Engineering Solutions International bvba by Kurt Hensen and Roel Geraerts. 2004 was a key year with the establishment of the Print head Proofing Department. In the following years, ESI-CIT Group evolved to become one of the leading companies to deliver test and measurement solutions to the industrial print head industry.
In 2006, the company employed 15 people. With the takeover of CIT Engineering – known mainly for their LabVIEW training center- and the founding of ESI Poland and ESI Netherlands, the number of employees rose to 40.
In 2011, ESI-CIT Group moves into a new building on the Research Campus in Hasselt and on September 22nd takes over Dutch T&M Solutions. The total number of employees rises to 52.
ESI-CIT Group supports its customers with the development and realization of customer specific (automated) test, measurement and control systems based on analog and digital sensors, actuators and Machine Vision applications.
